Francisco J. Flores, CPA

Managing Director - Credit Markets

 

Francisco has over 30 years in banking, leveraged lending, corporate finance, and investment banking with a focus on credit, workout, sales and administrative positions.  His background includes:

• 10 years organizing and operating a financial consulting and loan brokerage business – Focus Capital Advisors and Fox Valley Capital Corp.  Raised capital and provided Interim Controller services to clients.  

• 4 years with Bank of America as a Vice President, Middle Market Lending and Senior Portfolio Officer in the Special Assets Group. 6 years with Harris Bank, principally negotiating credit restructurings for financially distressed companies in the oil & gas industry.

• 8 years with National Westminster Bank USA, a New York-based middle market bank (subsequently merged into Fleet Bank and Bank of America), eventually heading up their Chicago Regional Office with responsibilities including administration, marketing, and portfolio management.

• 9 years in asset based and term lending on the origination side, including tenures with Congress Financial and CIT Group,

• Worked as Senior Consultant and originator with Morris-Anderson & Associates, a Midwest-based turnaround consulting firm.

• Played a key administrative role in the start-up, operation, and sale of Silica Glass Company, a successful family-owned company and the startup and launch of Sunology, a new consumer-products distributor.

• Served as Board Director and Chairman of the Education Committee of the Chicago/Midwest Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association; has been a member of the Association for Corporate Growth and Commercial Finance Association; served as Chairman of the Stewardship and Finance Committee of Holy Spirit Catholic Community in Naperville, Illinois.

Accomplishments Include:

• Originating, evaluating, and/or underwriting 150 leveraged financing opportunities including asset-based, structured leasing, factoring, and private equity transactions; formally proposing on 46 financings ($1.1 billion).

• Sourcing and closing transactions in excess of $181 million.

• Managing a workout portfolio of $110mm of middle market and oil and gas credits, collecting $61mm in 2 years.
